Home phone don’t ring when power adapter is plugged in?
My home phone draws power from a seperate power adapter when both the phone line & power plug is plugged in. The phone does not ring when i call its number, but the keypad still lights up and i can still take the call if i pick i up.
If i plug out the power adapter and call its number again, it rings.
Anyone can tell me why and how to sovle this?
I doubt that the short circuit, cos i tried on 2 phones.
Regarding the 1st solution, not really sure if i understand your solution correctly: I will plug in just the phone cable then plug in the power adapter and check that the ring tone is set. is this correct?

I tried on 2 phones, both does’nt ring. Caller will still hear the ringing as per normal, but on the phone itself no ringing tone, just the light flashing.
maybe the power adapter has a short in it? good luck:)
