is there a external battery out there for a laptop that uses a USB port to power?
The connector where the cord goes is shot and the battery won’t power from it anymore. Is there an external battery that you can connect through the USB instead of the connector on the laptop?
alright, so where can i find a replacement connector then? or am i screwed and have to buy a new laptop?
Not unless you want to damage the computer.
The USB ports on the computer are designed to power devices attached to the computer, not to receive power and can actually be damaged if you try to send power to them.
